OBJECTIVE #1
Annually, student achievement will meet or exceed the measurable state targets in the areas of literacy, mathematics, and science as measured by required state assessments.
STRATEGIES
- We will analyze state assessment results with the purpose of revising curriculum and instruction in order to improve all student performance and address “closing performance gaps” among all subgroups of
students.
- We will design and implement a district portfolio system, exhibition system, and common tasks to support proficiency based graduation requirements.
- We will provide high level sustained professional development to assist staff in implementing instructional practices to improve student achievement.
- We will provide all students with meaningful, engaging instruction which embraces higher order thinking skills, problem solving, and inquiry.
OBJECTIVE #2
The Lincoln School Department will continue to plan, revise, and implement a standards-based curriculum on a Pre-K – 12 continuum.
STRATEGIES
- We will support and expect grade level articulation of instruction, Pre-K -12, in all curriculum areas.
- We will provide data-driven professional development plans which align with standards-based curriculum and assessment.
- We will use multiple assessment information for planning and accountability of curriculum.
- We will develop and maintain a curriculum improvement cycle to plan, design, review, and revise curriculum.
OBJECTIVE #3
The district and every school will develop and maintain a comprehensive home, school, and community partnership.
STRATEGIES
- We will implement the existing parent, family, and community involvement policy at the district and school level to engage these groups more effectively.
- We will initiate alliances with business and community agencies to assist in acquiring necessary funding and resources for implementing and sustaining school, home, and community involvement programs.
- We will implement the district Health and Wellness policy at the district and school level.
- We will provide support to each school to effectively conduct self-study, design, implement, and evaluate their School Improvement Plans and report results to their families/communities and the district.
OBJECTIVE #4
The Lincoln School Department will develop and implement a comprehensive plan that supports improved instructional programs, space, and facilities.
STRATEGIES
- We will develop and redesign facilities to improve technology, industrial arts, the arts, and science.
- We will conduct a district-wide feasibility study to diagnose our space and facilities needs on a forward looking basis.
